The MINI Countryman S ALL4 has received a super off-road version

MINI has spilled the beans on the performance trials of the spanking-new MINI Countryman S ALL4, decked out in the John Cooper Works (JCW) trim, in the icy wilderness of Iceland. This crossover didn’t just survive, it thrived in the extreme winter conditions, conquering both the chilly double-digit temperatures and the deep snow with remarkable prowess.

Even in these challenging terrains, the crossover showcased enviable off-road capabilities, thanks to a noticeable boost in traction, a sporty chassis, and a modern all-wheel-drive system. The ALL4 all-wheel-drive system stands as the driver’s ally in all road and weather conditions. The swift and precise electronic control system intelligently distributes power between the front and rear wheels. Combined with an extended track, increased wheelbase, and adjustable suspension, this setup delivers excellent dynamics and comfort.

Beneath the hood of the MINI Countryman S ALL4 lies a potent 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine, augmented by a 48-volt starter-generator. The engine churns out 218 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque, with an additional 19 horsepower from the electric motor (preliminary data).

The body of this novelty is adorned in the vibrant Chili Red hue, contrasting elegantly with the coal-black roof and side mirror caps. The crossover boasts distinctive front and rear diffusers, daytime running lights with two horizontal stripes and the JCW insignia, and vertical taillights. Completing the sporty demeanor are alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 21 inches in diameter.

The interior of the MINI Countryman S ALL4 JCW is styled in the same black-and-red palette. Above the passengers’ heads, a panoramic glass roof provides a scenic view. Seats are upholstered in high-quality synthetic leather with a red contrast stitch. The backs of the three rear seats are individually adjustable in six positions. For added passenger convenience or increased cargo space, the rear seats slide forward and backward by 130 mm. In its regular state, the trunk accommodates 450 liters, expanding to a capacious 1450 liters with the rear seats folded down.

As part of the standard equipment, the MINI Countryman S ALL4 JCW boasts the Driving Assistant Plus system. It allows the driver to take their hands off the wheel on multi-lane roads at speeds up to 60 km/h, ready to take control at a moment’s notice. Essentially, it’s a level two autopilot system.
